Biomoldol 7 is one of the products developed for Lafarge, which has enjoyed a considerable success. It has replaced the traditional demoulding agents in several of Lafarge /Braass / Redland plants in Europe.

Biomoldol 7 is used by the roofing division for concrete tile demoulding operations and plays a major part in Lafarge environmental, hygiene and workplace - safety policy.

It all started in Germany in 1995 with the development of a tailor made product that responded to the stringent demands of Lafarge Brass - biodegradable oil, Blue angel label, good demoulding performance and high quality finishing of concrete tiles.

TOTAL technical expertise in this domain led to the development of Biomodol 7. After an extensive trial the benefits where clear:

better demoulding compared with conventional products
excellent surface quality (no dust)
cleaning effect on the moulds (extended life time for the moulds)
consumption reduction (down to 2.5 g/tile) - competitive performance/price ratio
better environment protection
biodegradable, no toxicity, blue angel
lower voc
specific raw material
better working conditions
no smell, no irritations

Such a success was soon replicated and TOTAL is now present European wide amongst Lafarge Roofing concrete tile production plants.
